Wendy’s is dedicated to providing not only delicious food but also a positive impact on the communities they serve. This commitment extends to choosing partners who share their values, and Barco Uniforms stands out as a prime example. As the uniform supplier for Wendy’s, Barco embodies the same dedication to quality and a profound sense of social responsibility. This partnership highlights how Wendy’s collaborates with best-in-class companies that prioritize giving back, ensuring that every aspect of their operation, from food to uniforms, reflects their core values.
Wendy’s core value, “Give Something Back,” is not just a slogan; it’s a principle they actively seek in their suppliers. Barco Uniforms perfectly exemplifies this value through their exceptional service and, more importantly, their commitment to charitable endeavors.
Barco’s involvement goes beyond simply providing high-quality barco uniforms wendy’s employees wear daily. They are deeply integrated with Wendy’s philanthropic efforts, most notably through their support of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® (DTFA). The “Hats Off” program initiated by Barco is a testament to this partnership. A portion of every Wendy’s crew hat sold directly contributes to the DTFA, Wendy’s brand charity. Furthermore, Michael Donner, the founder of Barco, actively participates in the DTFA’s Supplier Advisory Council, demonstrating a personal commitment to the cause. Wendy’s deeply appreciates Barco’s partnership in their ongoing mission to find permanent, loving families for children in foster care.
Beyond their collaboration with Wendy’s and the DTFA, Barco, under the leadership of Michael and Frida Donner, founded the Barco’s Nightingale Foundation in 2008. This foundation broadens their commitment to giving back on a global scale. The Barco’s Nightingale Foundation focuses on “improving the lives of children around the world” by addressing fundamental needs such as clean water, nutrition, clothing, and medical care.
A significant project of the Barco’s Nightingale Foundation is in Anse di Pitres, Haiti. In 2012, they established their first solar water well at a local school, providing a sustainable source of clean water for students and teachers. Recognizing the critical link between nutrition and education, the Foundation expanded its support in 2013 by launching a hot lunch program at the same school, initially providing 600 meals daily. This initiative has grown dramatically, now serving 3,000 hot lunches each day, significantly improving the health and well-being of the children and enabling them to thrive in their education.
Barco’s Nightingale Foundation has ambitious goals to further expand their impact in Haiti. Their targets include increasing the daily hot lunch program to 4,525 meals by April 1, 2017, and further to 6,000 students by September 1, 2017. By the end of 2018, their vision was to reach 9,000 students with daily hot lunches.
Michael Donner’s visit to Haiti highlighted the profound impact of Barco’s Nightingales Foundation in five remote villages. The warm reception from parents and children, who expressed their gratitude through songs and heartfelt thanks, deeply moved him.
“Our Haitian family are the most humble and courageous people that I know,” Michael shared. “They far surpass anything I have witnessed before. I have learned a great deal from them especially NEVER GIVE UP.”
Wendy’s proudly acknowledges Barco for their compassionate spirit and extraordinary dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Their commitment extends beyond providing excellent Wendy’s uniforms barco, demonstrating a shared purpose in uplifting communities and embodying true corporate social responsibility.
