Iowa State Football Unveils Fresh Uniforms for the 2024 Season

Iowa State Cyclones fans have reason to be excited as the football program has officially launched its new uniforms for the upcoming 2024 season. What initially seemed like an April Fools’ Day rumor has materialized into reality with the unveiling of three distinct uniform sets.

These new Iowa State Football Uniforms maintain a consistent aesthetic across the cardinal, white, and black variations. Key design elements include bold shoulder stripes, a nod to tradition with the return of stripes not seen since 2017, and the iconic Jack Trice stripes positioned on the upper-left shoulder. The words “Iowa State” are proudly displayed across the upper chest, ensuring team identity is front and center. Completing the look, the helmets feature the recognizable block I logo, overlaid with ‘State’, the university’s primary mark. Adding another layer of customization, the new uniform sets offer the option to pair jerseys with gold pants, providing a vibrant alternative.

This uniform update marks a significant refresh for the Cyclones, moving beyond alternate uniforms introduced in recent years to a comprehensive overhaul. The last major uniform redesign was back in 2018. Fans will appreciate the blend of classic and contemporary design cues in these iowa state football uniforms.

Looking back, Iowa State’s previous uniform iterations featured cardinal jerseys with gold numbers, white jerseys with cardinal numbers and gold outlines, and all-black alternate jerseys accented with grey trim. The revered Jack Trice uniform, known for its cardinal base, grey stripes, and tan pants, also held a special place among fans, particularly for its ‘Ames’ emblazoned helmet.

The debut of these new iowa state football uniforms is eagerly anticipated and scheduled for August 31st, when the Cyclones face off against North Dakota. This game will be the first opportunity for fans to see the team sporting their updated look on the field.
