The Marist Athletics Department is gearing up to host its highly anticipated annual Pink Game on Saturday, February 15th. This year, the women’s basketball team will face off against Merrimack at 4 p.m. in McCann Arena, promising an afternoon of thrilling basketball action and community spirit. While traditionally known as the “Pink Game,” this event is evolving, and fans are encouraged to participate in a vibrant “Color Out,” with a special emphasis on wearing red to support the spirit of athletic competition and team unity, alongside continued breast cancer awareness.
For this special game, the Marist Red Foxes will proudly don their striking Red Basketball Uniforms. These red basketball uniforms, symbolizing energy, passion, and the fierce competitive spirit of the Red Foxes, are scheduled to be worn on three significant occasions in February. Fans can witness the team in their red basketball uniforms on February 13th against Siena, February 15th versus Merrimack, and again on February 27th when they compete against Sacred Heart. This repeated showcasing of the red basketball uniform highlights its significance to the team and its identity.
At halftime during the February 15th game, which remains a Miles of Hope game, the Marist Athletics Department and Miles of Hope will continue to honor breast cancer survivors with an on-court ceremony. Survivors who wish to be part of this special recognition are invited to contact Assistant Athletics Director for External Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer for Athletics, Harrison Baker, via email at [email protected] for more details on participation.
This game marks a significant milestone as the 15th year that the Marist Athletics Department has partnered with the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. This enduring partnership underscores the commitment to promoting breast cancer awareness within the Hudson River Valley community. As in previous years, proceeds from the evening’s 50-50 raffle will go to benefit the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Donations to support this important cause will also be gratefully accepted, further emphasizing the charitable aspect of the event.
