- Initial Entry Trainees: First deployments to Initial Entry Trainees at BCT / OSUT installations commenced in the first quarter of fiscal year 2021 (1QFY21), starting at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and subsequently extending to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Fort Benning, Georgia, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
- Recruiters: Army Recruiters in the field also started to receive the new army green service uniform in 1QFY21.
- AAFES Availability: By the second quarter of fiscal year 2021 (2QFY21), the AGSU became available for purchase at all Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) locations, making it accessible to soldiers across the force.
- Reserve Component Soldiers: In the third quarter of fiscal year 2021 (3QFY21), Reserve component Soldiers began receiving their AGSUs through the replacement in kind program, ensuring uniform availability across all Army components.
- Mandatory Wear Date: All Soldiers are required to possess the army green service uniform by October 1, 2027. After this date, the Army Service Uniform (ASU) will transition to an optional uniform, designated for formal and ceremonial occasions.
