Iowa State Cyclones football fans have reason to be excited as the program has officially revealed brand new uniforms for the upcoming 2024 season. What started as rumors and anticipation culminated in a stylish and modern update to the team’s on-field look.
The unveiling showcased three distinct Iowa State Cyclones Uniforms, each incorporating the classic team colors of cardinal, white, and black. A key design element across all three sets is the inclusion of shoulder stripes, a feature making a welcome return after last being seen in the 2017 season. Adding a touch of heritage, the iconic Jack Trice stripes are subtly placed on the upper-left shoulder of each jersey. Across the chest, the words “Iowa State” are proudly displayed.

Helmet designs remain consistent with the primary Iowa State branding, featuring the recognizable block I logo with ‘State’ inscribed across the center. Adding further versatility to the Iowa State Cyclones uniforms, the new sets bring back the option of gold pants, allowing for a variety of color combinations throughout the season.
This uniform refresh marks a significant change for the Cyclones, moving on from previous base jerseys which included cardinal with gold numbers, white with cardinal numbers and gold outlines, and all-black alternate options with grey trim. Fans will also recall the Jack Trice uniform, a cardinal jersey with grey stripes and tan pants, notable for its “Ames” helmet design.
The debut of these new Iowa State Cyclones uniforms is highly anticipated and set for August 31st, when the team takes the field against North Dakota. Cyclones fans are eager to see their team sporting this updated look as they kick off the 2024 football season.
