The San Antonio Spurs are taking a stylish leap back in time, introducing their 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms that capture the electrifying vibe of the early 1970s.
Inspired by the cultural transformation that swept through San Antonio following the 1968 World’s Fair, these new uniforms are bathed in a striking crystal blue, a direct nod to the era’s popular leisure suit color. The retro “San Antonio” lettering and checkered detailing cascading down the shorts are clear tributes to the city’s vibrant past. To inject a contemporary feel, the design is punctuated with bold strokes of succulent green, saffron, and chocolate.
“This season’s NBA City Edition uniforms represent the next phase of San Antonio’s evolution during the transformative ‘70s,” stated Becky Kimbro, Senior Vice President of Brand Engagement for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “This uniform embodies San Antonio’s unique identity, weaving the city’s rich history into every design element. Our team is excited to proudly represent this legacy on the court.”
Spurs fans will get their first glimpse of the team in these fresh uniforms on November 21st when they face the Utah Jazz at the Frost Bank Center.
Adding to the nostalgic atmosphere, the Spurs are also bringing back their distinctive City Edition court from the previous season. This court features a succulent green perimeter, accented with vibrant saffron orange and deep chocolate brown in the key areas.
At the heart of the court design is the iconic Hemisfair logo, a central symbol of San Antonio’s cultural heritage. The beloved “Viva Spurs” slogan will also make a prominent return, celebrating the team’s enduring spirit and appearing on both the jerseys and the court itself. It’s a comprehensive celebration of history, culture, and the deep connection between the Spurs and their San Antonio community.
