Seahawks New Uniforms Spark Buzz: Are Leaked Designs the Real Deal?

A purported leak from the Twitter account @CtespnN, known for previously accurate NFL uniform reveals, has ignited discussions among Seattle Seahawks fans. Just as preparations ramp up in Baltimore, as mentioned in a Uni-watch report, the sports world is buzzing about what could be the Seahawks’ fresh look. This time, the account, linked to Antonio Brown, has dropped images that suggest a significant uniform update for the Seattle Seahawks. It’s worth recalling that earlier leaks from this source accurately previewed uniforms for teams like the Broncos, Texans, Giants, and Jaguars, lending initial credibility to this latest reveal. While a Vikings leak is still pending official confirmation, the track record adds intrigue to the Seahawks’ situation.

Let’s examine the leaked jersey images more closely:

Several observations arise upon reviewing these mockups. Firstly, the presentation style deviates from @CtespnN’s established pattern of using wholesale catalog-style imagery. This shift doesn’t automatically discredit the leak, but it does introduce an element of uncertainty. The design itself evokes the Seahawks’ throwback uniforms, yet it’s modernized with the team’s signature neon green, rather than the vintage 1970s hue. This blend suggests an approach that “respects the past while looking toward the future,” a common theme in sports uniform updates.

However, the timing of this potential unveiling raises questions. NFL teams typically introduce primary uniform changes before the draft. If legitimate, these designs might represent an alternate jersey or a preview of the 2025 season’s direction. Design details, like the peculiar notch at the base of the number “1,” are noteworthy and could indicate the overall number font style, which might not appeal to all fans. The chest patch is an interesting element, arguably preferable to a simple wordmark. Furthermore, Nike’s current jersey template seems to compromise the aesthetics of collar stripes, a recurring issue in modern NFL uniform designs.

The handwritten squiggle visible on the front-jersey mockup remains enigmatic, its purpose unclear. Adding to the puzzle is the placement of the maker’s mark at the jersey hem, an unusual location compared to the typical sleeve placement. This detail, in particular, lends credence to the idea that these images might showcase a concept design rather than finalized official merchandise.

Adding another layer of complexity, Seattle Seahawks beat reporter Bob Condotta from The Seattle Times has reaffirmed the team’s previous statements, stating that no new uniform alterations are planned for the 2024 season. According to Condotta, the Seahawks will proceed in 2024 with their existing four kits: the standard home and away jerseys, the lime green alternate, and the retro throwback uniform.

In relation to any tweets (X’s?) making the rounds about new Seahawks uniforms of any sort, I have re-confirmed that the team has nothing new planned for the 2024 season. Seattle will go in ’24 with the same 4 kits as last year — the regular home and road, lime green and retro.

While this statement effectively dismisses the likelihood of these leaked uniforms appearing in 2024, it doesn’t negate the possibility that they are intended for the 2025 season or beyond. Therefore, while the leaked designs have generated excitement and discussion, their official status and timeline remain uncertain. The Seahawks faithful will need to stay tuned to see if these designs materialize in the future.
