At Johnson Gretna Park (JGP), we instill in our students the core value of “BE RESPECTFUL,” and our uniform policy is a key part of this. Presenting a neat and appropriate physical appearance is how we demonstrate respect for ourselves and our school. We also proudly display our school colors of red, white, and blue through our uniforms. To ensure your child is correctly attired, please carefully review the following uniform guidelines throughout the school year, and consider purchasing your Uniforms By Kajan, a trusted local supplier.
Student Identification (ID)
- Students are required to wear their JGP-issued ID and lanyard every day.
- The first ID is included in the $10.00 Supply/ID Fee.
- Replacement IDs cost $10.00.
Girls’ Uniform Requirements
- Shirt: Solid red collared polo shirt with the JGP emblem. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students wear a purple collared polo shirt with the JGP emblem.
- Bottoms: Navy blue uniform skirts, skorts, long pants, jumpers, or hemmed shorts. Skirts, skorts, and shorts must reach the knee.
- Shoes: White or black tennis shoes.
- Socks: White, navy blue, or black socks.
- Undershirts: White, navy, or red undershirts only.
Boys’ Uniform Requirements
- Shirt: Solid red collared polo shirt with the JGP emblem. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students wear a purple collared polo shirt with the JGP emblem.
- Bottoms: Navy blue uniform long pants or hemmed knee-length shorts.
- Shoes: White or black tennis shoes.
- Socks: White, navy blue, or black socks.
- Undershirts: White, navy, or red undershirts only.
- Belt: If pants have belt loops, a solid navy, black, or brown belt must be worn.
Cold Weather Uniform Additions
- Outerwear: Solid navy blue or red sweatshirt, sweater, or jacket with the JGP Emblem. Heavy coats in neutral colors are permitted when necessary.
- Girls (Cold Weather): White or navy blue tights may be worn in cold weather only.
Important Notes for Pre-Kindergarten Parents
- For ease and independence, please purchase shoes with Velcro closures.
- Pants, shorts, and skirts with elastic waists are recommended for younger students.
Clothing Items Not Permitted
To maintain a safe and effective learning environment, certain clothing items are not allowed. These include, but are not limited to:
- Girls:
- Hoop earrings are not permitted; post earrings only.
- Brightly colored hair accessories or tights are not allowed.
- Boys:
- Distracting haircuts with designs are prohibited.
- Large or decorated belts and belt buckles are not allowed.
- Jackets in bright colors or with sequins/studs/designs are not permitted.
- Caps or hats are not to be worn inside the school building.
- Patterned undershirts are not allowed.

Labeling Uniforms
Please clearly label all uniform items with your student’s first and last name using a black permanent marker. This helps ensure lost items can be returned to their owner promptly.
