White Castle Uniforms Get a High-Fashion Makeover for 100th Birthday

To celebrate its centennial year, White Castle, a fast-food icon, has unveiled a stylish and contemporary update to its staff uniforms. This exciting revamp comes courtesy of designer Telfar Clemens, a name synonymous with innovative and inclusive fashion, who has previously collaborated with the brand. The new “Castle Uniforms” represent a significant step forward, blending practicality with high-fashion aesthetics for the company’s 10,000 employees.

The collaboration has resulted in four distinct uniform designs, encompassing essential pieces like T-shirts, polos, aprons, and visors. Responding to employee feedback and embracing inclusivity, the collection also introduces the do-rag, a first for White Castle’s uniform history and a welcome addition for many team members. The color palette remains true to White Castle’s brand identity, utilizing light blue, royal blue, and black, while some garments feature a gothic font slogan that proudly declares, “100 years and counting.” These “castle uniforms” are not just about functionality; they’re about celebrating a milestone and recognizing the valuable contributions of the employees.

To showcase the fresh “castle uniforms,” White Castle partnered with photographer Elliott Jerome Brown Jr. to create a portrait series featuring real White Castle employees in Queens, New York. Jamie Richardson, Vice President of White Castle, expressed enthusiasm for the new designs: “Telfar has taken our uniform to a new place, creating something that’s distinctive, attractive and comfortable.” He emphasized that these “castle uniforms” are designed to make team members feel confident and comfortable both at work and beyond. Babak Radboy, Telfar’s creative director, highlighted the personal connection between the brand and White Castle, recalling how White Castle supported Telfar in their early days. “White Castle supported us before our success and we consider them family,” Radboy stated, underscoring the genuine partnership behind these unique “castle uniforms.” The collaboration signifies more than just a uniform update; it’s a celebration of shared history and a forward-looking approach to brand identity.
