It’s important to understand our policy on custom orders. With the exception of STANDARD Colors, Styles, and Sizes listed below, all Coats, Jackets, Trousers, and Shirts are made to order and are subject to a restocking fee if returned. To ensure you select the correct items and sizes, please review the following standard options carefully:
- STANDARD SHELL JACKETS & SACK COATS: Available in sizes 38-48 Regular Length, Enlisted style, Unlined, Untrimmed, with a 7-Button Front. Choose from Navy Blue or Medium Gray Wool for the Shell Jacket, Medium Gray wool for the CS Sack Coat, or Navy Blue Wool for the 4-Button Front US Sack Coat.
- STANDARD TROUSERS: Available in Foot or Mounted styles, sizes 34-42, featuring a Side Seam Pocket and no Rank Stripe or Cording Trim. Color options include Sky Blue, Navy Blue (Foot Trouser Only), or Medium Grey Wool.

Choose Your Coat: CS 7-Button Sack Coat or CS Basic Shell Jacket
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The CS Sack Coat is a classic and versatile choice for Confederate reenactors. Featuring a 7-button front adorned with authentic CSA buttons, this coat also includes a practical inside front pocket. It comes standard unlined for breathability, but a muslin lining can be added as an optional upgrade for increased comfort and structure.
The Shell Jacket is another historically accurate option, favored for its shorter, more fitted style. This unlined jacket also features a 7-button front with CSA buttons and is designed with straight sleeves and non-functional cuffs, maintaining a clean, period-correct appearance. The standing collar completes the authentic military look. Like the Sack Coat, a muslin lining is available as an option.

Our Confederate foot trousers are meticulously crafted from durable wool with cotton facings and pockets, combining historical accuracy with modern wearability. Attention to detail is evident in features like the cotton-lined button fly, designed for smoother buttoning and enhanced comfort. The adjustable “V” back on the waistband includes eyelet holes, allowing for waist adjustment with a tie, ensuring a comfortable and customizable fit. The trousers are shaped with a dart on each back side, creating a tapered fit into the waistband, reflecting the period tailoring. Practical features include a watch pocket and side seam pockets. Authentic pewter buttons are used for the fly and suspender attachments.
Sizing Note for Trousers:
Please be aware that these Civil War era trousers are designed to be worn higher on the waist than contemporary jeans. Considering that modern waistlines often sit below the stomach, we strongly recommend ordering ONE size larger than your typical jean size to achieve a comfortable and historically accurate fit. If you prefer a particularly loose fit, consider ordering TWO sizes larger.
Inseam measurements are not required as the trousers are shipped unhemmed. This allows for custom tailoring by the customer, whether you prefer to roll them up, cut them to length, or have them professionally hemmed.

This loose-fitting shirt prioritizes comfort and historical accuracy, featuring button cuffs and a gusseted underarm for ease of movement. The shirt-tail hem is curved, a characteristic detail of the period. The four-button design is favored for its comfort and authentic style. The CS Bummer Cap, also known as a forage cap, offers a slightly different silhouette. Taller than the kepi, the bummer cap features a crown that drapes forward, providing a distinctive look. It shares the same quality features as the kepi, including a heavy leather brim, functional chin strap with brass fittings, leather sweatband, and lining. PROUDLY MADE IN USA in Idaho.
The Slouch Hat provides a more versatile and individualized headwear option. This wide-brimmed hat was popular among both US officers and enlisted men during the Civil War era, and is equally appropriate for Confederate impressions. Made from top-quality wool felt with a 3 1/2″ wide brim, it offers excellent sun protection and can be shaped to the wearer’s preference. It includes a sweatband for comfort, and is both packable and water repellent, making it practical for outdoor reenactments. The Slouch Hat is available in black, brown, or gray to suit various uniform and personal style preferences.

Complete Your Uniform: Suspenders, Leather Waist Belt, and CS Belt Plate
Confederate uniform accessories including canvas suspenders, leather belt, and CS belt plate.
Durable and adjustable canvas Suspenders with sturdy buckles and leather ends are included to ensure your trousers are comfortably and securely worn at the correct historical waist height. These suspenders are now PROUDLY MADE IN USA.
An M1855 US issue enlisted leather waist Belt is also included, available in Black or Russet leather. These belts are also PROUDLY MADE IN USA.
The set is completed with a one-piece CS Oval Belt Plate. This authentic reproduction features lead-filled stamped sheet brass construction with brass hooks on the back embedded in the lead, mirroring original examples in detail and quality. It utilizes three prong hooks for secure attachment to the belt. PROUDLY MADE IN USA.
OPTIONAL: Consider adding a Brass Belt Keeper. While brass keepers were more commonly used on Federal waist belts from mid-war onwards, they can add an extra touch of detail. Originally introduced around 1863 to replace leather loop keepers, these brass keepers feature prongs for easy attachment to leather waist belts.
