Our uniforms are designed with generous cuts. In most instances, the body and sleeve lengths accommodate both regular and longer torsos and arms. However, please note that wool and cotton garments will shrink upon washing or getting wet. We strongly recommend ordering 1-2 sizes larger than your usual size to account for shrinkage and ensure a comfortable fit.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
For everyday fatigue duty, Union soldiers were commonly issued the “Sack Coat,” or blouse. Our US 4-button Sack Coat is meticulously crafted from 15 oz. navy blue wool. It features a classic roll (fold-over) collar, a comfortable muslin lining, a practical inside pocket, and a four-button front adorned with medium-sized 3/4 inch Federal Eagle buttons.
The Shell Jacket, another essential component of the civil war union uniform, is also constructed from durable 15 oz. navy blue wool and lined with muslin. It features a seven-button front with US Eagle, medium-sized buttons. The jacket is designed with straight sleeves and non-functional cuffs for historical accuracy, along with a distinguished standing collar. Choose the untrimmed version for a standard infantry look, or select artillery red trim or cavalry yellow trim to represent specialized branches.

Sizing Note for Trousers:
These trousers are designed to be worn higher on the waist than contemporary jeans. It is crucial to remember this difference when selecting your size. We recommend ordering ONE size larger than your typical jean size. If you prefer a particularly loose fit, consider ordering TWO sizes larger than your normal jean size.
Inseam measurements are not necessary as the trousers are provided unhemmed. This allows for customization – customers can roll them up, cut them to the desired length, or hem them for a perfect fit to complete their civil war union uniform.
