Katlyn, a dedicated team member at Culver’s in Illinois, embarked on a new chapter after college, accepting an internship in South Carolina. Little did she know, this move would bring profound changes to her life, both personally and professionally.
South Carolina became the backdrop for two significant life events. Firstly, it was where she met Patrick, sparking a love that would change her life forever. Secondly, and perhaps surprisingly, it was during this time away that Katlyn realized how deeply she missed her work at Culver’s. The unique environment, the team spirit, and even the familiar Culver’s work uniform held a special place in her heart. Patrick, witnessing her passion, encouraged Katlyn to pursue her aspirations, leading them to relocate so she could advance her career as a manager at Culver’s of Greer, South Carolina. Katlyn’s enthusiasm for Culver’s was so infectious that Patrick himself decided to join the team part-time.
“I will always remember and cherish that moment.” – Katlyn
May 2017 became an unforgettable day for Katlyn at work. Kim, her general manager, orchestrated a heartwarming surprise. Under the guise of checking the restaurant’s marquee sign for errors, Kim led Katlyn outside. As Katlyn focused on the sign, a special message illuminated: “Katlyn, will you marry me?”

Turning around, Katlyn saw Patrick approaching, not in everyday clothes, but in his Culver’s apron, a symbol of their shared connection and her love for her workplace. He carried a Value Basket, an iconic part of the Culver’s experience, but instead of food, it held an engagement ring. With a playful nod to their Culver’s setting, Patrick proposed, “Would you like marriage, with a side of love?”
Overjoyed, Katlyn said yes. The couple celebrated their engagement in true Culver’s style, with a Banana Split. “Considering my love for Patrick and Culver’s,” Katlyn shared, “I can’t think of a better way to get engaged!” This unique proposal highlights how deeply Culver’s, and even the Culver’s work uniform, had become interwoven with Katlyn’s life and personal milestones.
