Florida State University (FSU) football is set to don their much-anticipated Seminole Heritage uniforms for the first time on the field during their annual Spring Showcase. After unveiling the special uniforms last year, fans will finally get to see them in action today, albeit in a unique way. These alternate jerseys will serve as indicators for non-contact players during the showcase, rather than being worn across the entire team.
This event continues a wider athletic department tradition at Florida State, where multiple sports teams have embraced turquoise in their uniforms. FSU football officially launched their version of the Seminole Heritage uniforms in September 2023. During their inaugural Seminole Heritage game against Duke Blue Devils last season, however, only the coaching staff sported turquoise-themed apparel. Now, the players will have their chance to showcase this special design.

Florida State’s men’s basketball team holds the distinction of being the first program at the university to wear turquoise uniforms, having debuted them back in 2013. These uniforms were part of Nike’s N7 collection, which supports the N7 Fund. The N7 Fund is dedicated to assisting Native American and Indigenous communities in developing athletic and recreational opportunities. Significantly, proceeds generated from the sales of Seminole Heritage merchandise are directed towards Florida State’s Native American and Indigenous Studies Center (NAIS). The NAIS Center plays a vital role in supporting programs for Indigenous youth at FSU and promoting public education about the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
