Facial Hair Guidelines

For male employees, facial hair is permitted but must be neatly trimmed and well-groomed. Specifically, facial hair should cover less than 25% of the face. Beards are not allowed under any circumstances. Managers on duty are responsible for verifying that all employees comply with this policy before they begin their scheduled shifts. Failure to meet these requirements will result in being unable to work.

Hands and Nails: Hygiene is Key

Maintaining clean and sanitized hands is crucial in the food service industry. Here are the guidelines for hands and nails:

  • Cleanliness: Hands and exposed arms must be kept clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Nail Care: Nails must be clean and neatly trimmed. Jewelry or stickers on nails are prohibited.
  • Nail Length: Nail length should not exceed 1/8 inch (0.32cm) beyond the skin endpoint under the nail. This applies to both natural and artificial nails.

Wearing the correct Popeyes work uniform is mandatory for all employees. The uniform is designed to be both practical and to present a unified brand image.

Manager Uniform Specifics

Managers have a distinct uniform to differentiate their role. The manager uniform consists of:

  • Shirt: Button-up shirt with the Popeyes logo.
  • Pants: Black slacks.
  • Shoes: Black shoes.
  • Apron: Aprons are only permitted to be worn by managers when working in the kitchen area.

Standard Employee Uniform Components

For all other employees, the standard Popeyes work uniform includes:

  • Shirt: Employees must wear the Popeyes company shirt. Each employee will be issued at least one shirt.
  • Hat: The Popeyes company hat must be worn at all times during work hours. One hat will be provided to each employee.
  • Name Badge: The Popeyes company name badge must be worn and visible. Each employee receives one name badge.
  • Pants: Employees are responsible for providing their own black pants. These pants must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Color: Must be solid black.
    • Style: Traditional pants style. Jean-style pants, shorts, and jogging sweatpants are not permitted.
    • Fit: Pants must be worn at waist level. Sagging or oversized pants are not allowed.

  • Shoes: Safety and practicality are paramount when it comes to footwear. Employees are required to wear:
    • Type: Black slip-resistant rubber-soled shoes.
    • Restrictions: Open-toed shoes and slippers (flip-flops) are prohibited. Heels greater than ½ inch are also not allowed while on duty.
    • Company Purchase Option: Employees may have the option to purchase shoes through a company account.

Uniform Return Policy Upon Separation

The Popeyes shirt, hat, and name badge issued to each employee remain the property of TICE. These items must be returned in a clean and wearable condition upon termination of employment, whether voluntary or involuntary. Failure to return these uniform items immediately upon separation will result in deductions from the employee’s final paycheck. The deduction amounts are as follows: $13.00 per shirt, $5.00 per hat, and $3.00 for the name badge. Delays in returning these items may also delay the receipt of final wages.
