Are you looking to outfit your Girl Scout with her official uniform but need financial assistance? Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa offers uniform bundle scholarships to help make Girl Scouts accessible to all girls. This scholarship is designed to provide financial aid for the initial uniform purchase, ensuring every girl can proudly wear her Girl Scout gear.
This scholarship supports girls by providing a uniform bundle, which includes the girl’s choice of a Girl Scout vest, sash, or tunic appropriate for her grade level. Alongside this, the bundle also contains essential insignia: the American Flag Patch, Girl Scout Council Identification Set, Troop Numerals, Insignia Tab, World Trefoil Pin, and Membership Pin. These items together create the complete and official uniform for your Girl Scout.
Eligibility for the uniform scholarship is based on the information provided in your application. It’s important to note that families with outstanding debts to the council are not eligible for this financial assistance. We also encourage Girl Scouts to participate in the Cookie Program and Fall Product Program. These programs allow girls to earn credits that can be used towards Girl Scout expenses. We ask that families utilize any earned product credits before applying for uniform scholarship assistance.
To apply for a scholarship, please complete the application form once during the Girl Scout membership year. You will receive notification regarding the approval or denial of your scholarship application, including details or reasons as necessary.
Once approved, you can pick up your Girl Scout’s uniform bundle at your preferred Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Shop location. You can select your preferred pickup location from a dropdown list at the end of the application form. GSGI shop staff will contact approved families to arrange a convenient pickup time at one of our Shop locations. Shipping options can also be discussed if needed. If you are unable to pick up the uniform yourself, you can authorize another individual to do so. Simply provide them with your email confirmation and a statement authorizing them to pick up the uniform on your behalf.
